Location: U3A Nunawading is located in the eastern suburbs of Melbourne, Victoria, approximately 20 kms from the city centre. Established 26 years ago, it one of the largest U3As in Australia with a current membership of almost 2,000 retired and semi-retired members of the community.
The majority of our members are in the 66 75 age range with approximately half originating from 70 different countries.
Classes: Our 160 volunteer Class Leaders offer more than 180 year-long classes and over 80 short computer courses. Our general course streams include Humanities, History, Dance, Languages, Science, Exercise, Art, Music and Craft. We also have a swing band, jazz band and choir who meet weekly to rehearse and play at community events.
We operate during the four terms of the Victorian school calendar plus on six days in mid-January when we hold our Summer School, a program of special one-off lectures and excursions.
Social Events: As well as classes, U3A Nunawading holds a number of social events during the year to give members the opportunity of getting to know each other in a relaxed environment. These events include Melbourne Cup Luncheons, Fashion Parades, Afternoon Teas and Supper Dances.
If you are ever in our part of the world, we would love to meet you.
