Nottingham U3A

Hello everyone, my name is Fiona McCluskey and I look after our Social Media and printed progamme.

1. Nottingham U3A is based at the International Community Centre (seen right) on Mansfield Road near the centre of Nottingham, where we have exclusive use of a meeting room and office. It is the oldest established branch in the area, having been set up in November 1983.

2. Membership: We have 160 members including some who live over the Nottinghamshire border, in Derbyshire and Leicestershire.

3. Interest groups: We have about 35 interest groups, most of which meet fortnightly. We also run occasional short courses, the most recent ones being Genetics in 2014 and Forensics in 2015.

We have an All Members’ Meeting every 4 weeks on a Monday afternoon (excluding Bank Holidays), which usually includes a talk by an outside speaker. You can find more information on our website http://www.nottu3a.co.uk which includes links to our Facebook page and Twitter account.

4. Personal information: I joined Nottingham U3A in 2009 and I have been a committee member since 2013. I belong to 4 language groups, 2 music groups and the Play Reading group, so the U3A keeps me well occupied.
