Where: We are bordered by Lithuania, Latvia, Poland and Ukraine. On our eastern side is Russia, to which we belonged until we gained our independence. Minsk is our modern capital city.
Members: We started in 2013 and by 2015 more than 2,000 students aged 60 and above gained new knowledge and found new friends. Minsk U3A today is - 1327 Third Age students, 123 volunteer teachers, 19 Educational programs.
Activities: Foreign languages (English, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Polish, Japanese), journalism etc. Computer courses, including study of tablets and smartphones using operating systems Android and iOS, local history, school health, psychology, fashion and style, Rodovid, landscaping, therapeutic exercises, stretching, Photoshop, etc.
We have a Center for intercultural communication and a Center for volunteer 60+ within the Minsk U3A. Center for Intercultural Communication enables to expand our horizons by studying the culture of other countries. The volunteer center enables us to apply unrealized knowledge and skills, to contribute to society, improve self-esteem and find like-minded people to do good deeds.
Comment: We are fortunate to have so many wonderful volunteer teachers. Russian speakers can learn more about us on our website at www.vozrast.by and you can see videos on our YouTube channel https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC65pV5-Ph4HFRQtb5cm3PDg
There are many cheap flights to Minsk from other European cities. We
invite you to visit our welcoming country and will be so glad to meet
you in our University of the third age.
